In 2003 The Barley Mow Inn was bought by local farmer Derek
Jones to diversify his farming interests. Derek had always had an interest
in the brewing of real ales. A small dilapidated out building adjoining
the Barley Mow was renovated aided by the help from the Redundant Building
Grant Scheme.
In late 2006 we took over the Thomas McGuinness Brewing Company of Rochdale
and in early 2007 the bespoke S.P.R 5 barrel plant was fitted in the Offa's
Dyke Brewery.
Local engineer, plumber, amateur brewer and game keeper John Edwards oversaw
the installation which can only be described as perfection. This earned
John free beer for life from the Offa's Dyke Brewery as a token of our
appreciation.

John is seen in this image above emerging from the brewery.
